Vanderpump Rules star Katie Maloney recently shared a cryptic Instagram Story about divorce which left fans confused, and weeks later she and her husband Tom Schwartz confirmed that they are in fact breaking up. Katie and Tom were a staple couple since Vanderpump Rules season 1, and despite their constant bickering, fans thought they would be together forever. They had a shaky period when Katie wanted to get married and gave Tom an ultimatum, but he finally stepped up and proposed to her.
Katie and Tom got married in 2016 in a beautiful ceremony in northern California with Lisa Vanderpump officiating. However, Katie found out that Tom dropped the ball when he didn’t submit their official documents, thereby making their marriage not legal. The Vanderpump Rules stars got married again in Las Vegas in 2019, and made sure that it was official. Fans expressed concern over how their relationship was portrayed over the years on Vanderpump Rules. Many thought that Tom was checked out and was often dismissive to Katie, while others thought that Katie nagged Tom way too much.
