The Steam Deck reviews are in, and it's good news for anyone who's pre-ordered. And it sounds that's a whole lot of you, because the early success already has Valve considering future models.
Speaking in a recent interview, Valve's Gabe Newell confirmed that a "higher-end" model of the hybrid console is already under consideration. This comes after the more expensive model - priced at $649 - outsold its $399 counterpart, suggesting fans are happy to fork out a bit more for better specs.

In an interview with IGN, Newell shared that he was surprised that consumers opted for the more expensive option. He says he "would not have guessed" that players would be willing to spend almost $700 for 512GB SSD internal storage, but this move will influence future Steam Deck models.
Valve is currently looking into whether it "should continue to look at higher-end configurations." Much like other companies do with future console releases, such as the Nintendo Switch OLED, and Xbox One X.
In more good news for fans, Newell says that the nature of PC gaming means that there won't be any price hikes on the models that have already been revealed.
"Like a year from now, AMD is going to have better parts. Right? A year from now, all the component suppliers are going to either expand capacity, expand performance, or reduce costs. So, we're absolutely going to ride that as hard as we can", Newell says. "That's part of the thing about being in the PC space is everybody's essentially driving everybody else's price performance improvements over time."
