Ubisoft released its annual financial results, and the report included projected release windows for several games currently in the works. Most notable is , an open-world action adventure that follows up on Ubisoft’s original game from 2009. Ubisoft has confirmed that the title will be out before the end of its financial year, which is set for April 1, 2023.
This somewhat narrows down the date Ubisoft gave last year during its reveal. The publisher merely said that the current-gen-only game would be coming in 2022. This updated window doesn’t spell out a delay into 2023, but does at least leave the door open for small one, even if a holiday 2022 release seems more likely. is still due out in December, so it appears as though the game will fall into that blast radius either way.
Developer Massive Entertainment is working on and is the same team responsible for and its sequel. Ubisoft has only released one trailer and a tech-heavy behind-the-scenes video of the game so far, but it’s likely that there will be more pomp and circumstance regarding this tentpole release as the summer rolls around, especially if it is coming out this year.
and the latest entry in the series are two other already-announced titles that will share ‘s release window. has been in some form of development since 2013 by Ubisoft Singapore. While initially based on the ship combat in , the game has gone through numerous redesigns in the decade since its inception and hasn’t had as firm of a release window. Ubisoft has shown the game off at several E3 events, including at least one where it was playable, and is allegedly currently running closed beta tests.
