Elon Musk led Twitter has done something headline-worthy again. Twitter's Indian born rival Koo has been gaining prominence in the recent times and to address issues from celebrities, it had floated a Twitter handle by the same name. Twitter has now suspended this Koo handle and while many did not know about, Koo's co-founder Mayank Bidawatka reached out to the world via his Twitter account to inform the same.
In his long Twitter thread, Mayank wrote about how Elon Musk is affecting transparency and creating law out of thin air. In one of those thread posts, he declared Twitter's banning of the Koo handle.
“I forgot. There's more!
- Banning Mastodon account.
- Not allowing mastodon links saying it's unsafe.
- Banning Koo's eminence handle.
I mean seriously. How much more control does the guy need?”, said Mayank Bidawatka in his post.
Mayank went on to attack Musk's various emerging policies regarding banning journalists on the platform. “We've never created policies out of thin air. Everything is user focused and transparent. It's the most inclusive platform. It's time to take action instead of just discussing. This won't stop here unless we make it!”
Furthermore, he went on to say about how Koo is a better place for journalists to migrate. “I've said this before. We run Koo and the journalists should just migrate. Migrate tools are available. Koo is the best alternative to Twitter. This place is what it is because of you and millions of other users like us. Let's not fuel this guy's ego.”
He also went on to classify Twitter as a publisher, not a platform anymore. “And guess what! Suddenly. Almost suddenly #ElonIsDestroyingTwitter has been removed from the trending section. Twitter is a publisher. Not a platform anymore!”
