AMC has unveiled the title for their latest spin-off project for the popular The Walking Dead series involving Norman Reedus, who is on board for a deeper dive into his character Daryl in Daryl Dixon with David Zable as showrunner.
The Walking Dead has been winning fans on AMC for more than a decade, who are devoted to an evolving group of survivors in a post-zombie-apocalypse landscape. The show is completing the 11th season currently with a much-anticipated upcoming final eight episodes that debuted on October 2nd. Reedus' character Daryl has been a fan favorite since early in the show. The franchise has spawned countless adaptations, including comics, games, web series, and three prior spin-offs, Fear the Walking Dead, Walking Dead: The World Beyond, and the recent Tales of the Walking Dead. Daryl Dixon is just one of many character-related spin-offs that are in development by AMC, particularly as the original show comes to an end.
A Creepshow Video Game Is Coming From AMC Networks
Reedus unveiled the name of the new AMC series on Twitter recently as Daryl Dixon, of which he will be leading a new cast in a new world where Daryl finds himself in France. Franchise architect Scott M. Gimple teased (via Total Film), “Daryl is a fish out of water to start with. If Daryl finds himself with new people, he’s a fish out of water. In France, in a country that’s going through the apocalypse, [it’s] an entirely different thing.” Gimple also hinted that Daryl will be facing off against the faster-moving zombies created by a variant of the original infection seen in The Walking Dead: The World Beyond.
