The House of the Dead: Remake will be released for PlayStation 5 on January 20, Forever Entertainment has announced.
It will be available as a free upgrade for owners of the PS4 version of the game, which is currently discounted by 50% until January 19.
The PC version of the game is also set to be offered half price on Steam beginning later today until January 23.
Forever Entertainment announced in 2019 that it had signed an agreement for remakes of The House of the Dead and The House of the Dead 2 but didn’t reveal target platforms or launch windows at the time.
The House of the Dead Remake debuted for Nintendo Switch in April 2022, before hitting Steam, GOG, Xbox One, PS4 and Stadia later the same month.
The game was released for Xbox Series X/S last September and is also available as a free upgrade for owners of the Xbox One version.
In other horror game news, the series producer of Silent Hill has said he wants to see even more indie studios working on the franchise, while the critically acclaimed Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle is being pulled from sale next week.
Striking Distance’s The Callisto Protocol has also reportedly seen disappointing sales numbers, and ahead of this month’s release of EA’s Dead Space remake, filmmaker John Carpenter has suggested a Dead Space movie is in the works.
