Today, we heard that a Call of Duty Vanguard skin may have been plagiarized, Minecraft players are up in arms over the latest update, and someone made a multiplayer mod for Stray. The adorable cat game that everyone has been raving about for the better part of a week, Stray, now has a mod allowing for local co-op. The person behind this pretty impressive little feat of software engineering, KangieDanie, managed to make it all work with a tried and true design approach, splitscreen. The whole thing comes with a few caveats of course. “Only player one can see the HUD, so the others will need to play without the HUD,” KangieDanie notes. “There are moments in the game where the other players are stuck when there is a transition of the level. You can fix this by going back to the main menu and continuing the level again.” KangieDanie jokes that “in summary, it seems that the game wasn't made for splitscreen.”
Steam, Epic, Battlenet, and several other gaming services have now been banned in Indonesia. This comes in the wake of some regulatory changes making it much harder to enjoy our favorite hobby. None of these companies have yet issued statements and it remains unknown if they plan to comply with any of the new laws. In any case, people across all of Indonesia have been taking to social media platforms like Twitter in order to vent their frustration. I can't really blame them to be honest.
