Tencent has acquired a 90 percent stake in Japanese creative studio, Wake Up Interactive. The studio is responsible for several successful Nintendo Switch titles, such as Ninjala and Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time.
As reported by Bloomberg, Tencent purchased the majority of the company for $44 million. Though Tencent owns League of Legends developer Riot Games, and has stakes in many other development studios and publishers, it normally doesn't buy such large stakes in Japanese game
