Take-Two Interactive and Ubisoft recently announced a halt to all sales of their games in Russia and Belarus on account of the Ukrainian invasion. Both companies also claim to be cutting back on related services like software delivery and support in the two countries.
"We have watched recent events unfold in Ukraine with concern and sadness," Vice President of Corporate Communications at Take-Two Interactive Alan Lewis told PC Gamer. "After significant consideration last week, we decided to stop new sales, installations, and marketing support across all our labels in Russia and Belarus at this time."

Ubisoft followed suit with Take-Two Interactive, noting that "in light of the ongoing tragedy in Ukraine, we have decided to suspend our sales in Russia." The company has already taken measures to help its employees in Ukraine by providing them with various forms of support. The Loadout was told last week that “Ubisoft has provided all team members in Ukraine with additional funds to help them cover exceptional costs such as those related to their travel and relocation.” The statement went on to say that “Ubisoft is clearly taking the safety of its Ukrainian employees extremely seriously.”
Take-Two Interactive and Ubisoft are only the latest companies in the games industry to suspend services in Russia and Belarus. Electronic Arts, Activision Blizzard, and Epic Games have already made announcements to this effect. Microsoft recently said that "many aspects of our business in Russia” would be stopped. CD Projekt became one of the first companies to halt its activities in Russia and Belarus only days after the Ukrainian invasion.
