(Pocket-lint) — Summer Game Fest 2022 kicks off on Thursday 9 June with an opening livestream and will follow up with games news, launches, trailers and much more over the following weeks.
It's perhaps even more important this year considering there's no E3 — not even a digital event.
So, how can you watch the kickoff show and follow everything else as it happens? Read on.
Born from the pandemic and global lockdowns, Summer Game Fest started in 2020 to fill the void left by a cancelled E3.
It ran from May to August and featured publisher announcements, in-game events and an opening livestream that crammed in bundles of game info and trailers.
This year it runs for a shorter period but again replaces a cancelled E3 event.
Summer Game Fest will start with a live kickoff show on Thursday 9 June at 11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm BST.
Other publisher events will take place over the following weeks and tie into the gaming festival.
Summer Game Fest is online-only with a number of key events taking place throughout June. Here are the confirmed events so far and the times they will start.
The main show will be hosted by The Game Awards' Geoff Keighley and start at the following times. It will also be streamed live in IMAX Theaters in the US.
We hope to host the stream closer the time.
Expect gameplay of Stafield, the full unveiling of the new Forza Motorsport, plus plenty of other big announcements and trailers.
You should be able to watch it here.
As well as the above, the following publishers have signed on to take part in the Summer Game Fest.
More could be announced throughout the event.
