A magical mod for Stray turns the title's feline protagonist into platforming icon Spyro the Dragon. The indie cat simulator, recently released on July 19, lets players explore a unique cyberpunk world through the lens of a curious feline. While fans have long anticipated a Spyro the Dragon 4 release, a fan-made mod for Stray might just be the next best thing.
BlueTwelve Studio's Stray lets players use the agility and ingenuity of a cat to traverse a strange cybernetic metropolis on a quest to return home. The game is incredibly immersive, with players able to perform all manner of optional cat objectives like scratching furniture and curling up on warm surfaces. While the game just recently released, mods for Stray have already begun to appear to further enhance the feline experience. One mod replaces the protagonist's iconic meow with a Heavy Rain meme, for example, while another can actually add different real-world cats to the game. A recently revealed split-screen multiplayer mod for Stray is incredibly impressive, but the Spyro the Dragon mod may be the hottest mod of all.

A new Stray mod that adds Spyro the Dragon to the game has been created by Nexus Mods user MrMarco1003 and shared by Twitter user SteveBH. The mod swaps the game's four-legged feline with the four-legged dragon Spyro, allowing the adorable purple dragon to embark on another otherworldly adventure. While he is unable to breathe fire, Spyro otherwise looks and walks just as he did in 2018's Spyro Reignited Trilogy. His partner Sparx is also sadly absent, with the Stray mod partnering Spyro up with B-12 instead, but otherwise the mod looks very faithful to the beloved PlayStation mascot.
