Dying Light 2 is out soon, and according to the reviews, it's pretty okay. Not great, and our review had plenty of criticism for the zombie apocalypse sequel, and so far nobody is calling the game perfect, but most are calling it a fine addition to the Dying Light franchise.
Except in Germany. As noted by Reddit user Blubbpaule, the German version of Dying Light 2 is "incomplete, censored," and "bans" Germans from playing with anyone outside Germany.

According to German publication Heise Online, Dying Light 2's strangely censored release in Germany has to do with the game failing to receive an age rating from the Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle, or USK (which translates to Entertainment Software Self-Regulation). The USK provides age ratings for games, and for whatever reason, the USK didn't like the violence in Dying Light 2.
"Despite numerous attempts and having exhausted all legal means available to the company, the uncut version has not received the required USK rating for a release in Germany," developer Techland told the publication.
To release Dying Light 2 in Germany, Technland altered the gameplay somewhat. The German version of Dying Light 2 doesn't allow you to decapitate or dismember human opponents or kill neutral characters. It also removes online multiplayer with regions outside of Germany.
Dying Light 2's German Steam page doesn't note these limitations. Many of the responses on Reddit suggest that German customers looking to buy Dying Light 2 do so in Austria or from an authorized Steam Key reseller outside of Germany.
