The Star Wars Jedi: Survivor release date will be March 16, 2023.
That’s according to the game’s Steam page, which has seemingly been updated ahead of an official announcement.
Following months of speculation, Electronic Arts officially announced Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in May with a teaser trailer and a 2023 launch window.
Giant Bomb reporter Jeff Grubb later claimed that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor would be released in March 2023. If accurate, it’s possible the release date could officially be confirmed during The Game Awards on Thursday.
Set for release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, the game is the sequel to developer Respawn’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The third person, narrative-driven action-adventure title picks up five years after the events of the hit 2019 release.
Accompanied by his trusty sidekick BD-1, protagonist Cal Kestis, one of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy, must acquire new skills and grow his connection with the Force to stay one step ahead of the Empire’s constant pursuit.
Fallen Order game director Stig Asmussen, who was God of War 3 creative director at Sony Santa Monica before joining Respawn, is again leading development of the sequel.
Asmussen has said Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will have a darker plot than its predecessor.
“They are in dark times, and Cal and the crew are doing whatever it takes to stay alive,” he told the Star Wars website when the game was announced. “That might mean that they are making connections with people that, in other times, might be considered unsavoury.”
