Spotify is launching a new Home experience with separate feeds for music and podcasts.
Rolling out first to Android users and coming "soon" for iOS, the remodel splits audio into genres, helping to individualize everyone's streaming experiences.
Tap the "Music" tab in the top-left corner of the screen to revisit the songs you've been jamming to and access playlist and artist recommendations based on listening history. Or choose "Podcasts & Shows" to browse a list of your favorite programs' latest episodes, read synopses, save interesting installments, and start playing immediately without leaving the page. Spotify also provides suggestions for more shows you may want to get stuck into.
"By creating these feeds, Spotify will help listeners to easily scroll through the type of content they're looking for at that moment," Spotify says(Opens in a new window). "The updated interface will make the experience more personalized while allowing users to dig even deeper into their recommendations."
Spotify's Soundtrap cloud-based recording platform has also added live collaboration for real-time creation, auto save options, and the ability to add comments. Artists must manually enable the first two features, according to TechCrunch(Opens in a new window), while the third—which lets folks leave notes on tracks, Google Docs-style—is rolling out now to everyone.
While two of the three new additions are available now under a public beta, Spotify hopes to launch a stable version later this year, TechCrunch reports. Personal Soundtrap subscriptions start at $13.30 per month or $77.88 annually.
