The ultra-customizable PS5 wireless controller Sony teased back in August now has pre-order and release dates confirmed.
The DualSense Edge(Opens in a new window) is Sony's high performance controller built with "personalization in mind." Customizations come in both software and hardware forms. The analog stick modules are replaceable, while the stick caps and back buttons can easily be changed. You can also manually set the travel distance of the left and right triggers, fine-tune stick sensitivity, and quickly swap between pre-set control profiles using the on-controller user interface.
Pre-orders for the DualSense Edge and replaceable stick modules will open on Oct. 25(Opens in a new window) in the US, UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. You will only be able to place a pre-order through direct.playstation.com(Opens in a new window), and Sony warns it doesn't have an unlimited supply so don't be surprised if pre-orders close quickly. Then on Jan. 26 the controller will launch globally for $199.99. The replaceable stick modules will cost $19.99 and will also ship on Jan. 26.
In return for your $200, Sony includes a USB braided cable, sets of two Standard caps, High dome caps, Low dome caps, Half dome back buttons, and Lever back buttons alongside the wireless controller. There's also a connector housing and a carrying case which includes space for all the caps and buttons.
