For weeks now,Sony fans have been discussing when the next State of Play event will be there. All rumors pointed to a State of Play in early June, as it makes the most sense. Several other events are already scheduled for next month, such as Summer Game Fest and the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, so it seemed like only a matter of time.
Now, Sony has announced that date. On Thursday, June 2, Sony will host this State of Play feature 30 minutes of announcements and trailers. It will take place at 3 PM PT/ 5 PM CT/6 PM ET. A lot can be revealed in thirty minutes, but Sony did outline what fans can expect there, more or less.
Sony promises «exciting reveals from our third-party partners,» as well as a sneak peek at games in development for PlayStation VR2. This is interesting as, while many expected God of War: Ragnarok to be at the next State of Play, this would suggest otherwise.
However, the silver lining is that the third party here likely refers to Square Enix, among others, and that means the long-awaited Final Fantasy 16 trailer will be there. Perhaps even a release date for it, among a plethora of other reveals.
