For the past decade, Sucker Punch Productions has mainly been known for its Infamous series and the critically-acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima, but it originally made a name for itself with its Sly Cooper trilogy of 3D platformers that it developed for the PS2. The Sly Cooper franchise has been dormant for quite some time, and while no new game in the series has been announced, those feeling nostalgic for the originals will soon have reason to celebrate.
On September 20, the Sly Cooper series is coming to PlayStation Plus Premium, the priciest tier of Sony's subscription service. This will make the Sly Cooper games playable on PlayStation 5 for the first time ever, giving those with Sony's newest hardware the opportunity to relive the games. In total, Sly Cooper fans have four games to look forward to with the big September 20 PlayStation Plus Premium update.
Leaker Says New Sly Cooper and Infamous Games Are in Development
On that day, PS Plus Premium subscribers will get their hands on The Sly Cooper Collection and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. The Sly Cooper Collection is as a compilation of the original Sly Cooper trilogy that was developed by Sucker Punch Productions, giving fans access to Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, Sly 2: Band of Thieves, and Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves. Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is the fourth game in the series, though it was not developed by Sucker Punch.
With Sucker Punch busy working on the Infamous games, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time was made by Sanzaru Games and released in 2013. Compared to the other games in the series, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time reviews weren't quite as positive, but it was still mostly well-received by fans and critics.
