Whiterun is one of the most well-known locations in Skyrim. If the player is following the path of the main story, it is the first major settlement they will discover. Home to Dragonsreach, the Companions quest, and plenty of other recognizable features and stories for Skyrim players. For many players of the fifth Elder Scrolls game, Whiterun is a place of fond memories buying their first player home or seeing what cities in Skyrim looked like. However, something that might be remembered less fondly is the trip a player has to take to reach the settlement.
Following the player's arrival at Riverwood, and the news given to either Alvor or Gerdur that a dragon was spotted at Helgen, the Dragonborn will then have to travel to Whiterun in order to progress the main questline. Of course, few Skyrim players will feel the need to save the world from Alduin once they have the entire region of the Nords to explore. Still, as Whiterun is the first place where a player can hire a carriage and begin the companions quest line, many make their way to the city.
Morbid Skyrim Trick Helps Players Get Loot in Whiterun
Arriving at Whiterun can prove to be quite the task, especially on multiple Skyrim playthroughs. This is not due to any particular problem involving bandits or other enemies on the road. Instead, walking up to the front gates can prove quite the task, considering the winding nature of Whiterun's road. It seems as one of the many things in and around Whiterun that doesn't make sense, but one player has found a shortcut cutting the time it takes to walk to Whiterun down hugely.
