A modder has decided that the eerie Skyrim bug that causes mannequins to move around of their own volition needed to make a comeback. While Bethesda has been patching out Skyrim glitches, including this one, many are already aware of the sheer number of issues that have plagued the RPG since it released almost 11 years ago. While many of these bugs can be harmless and even amusing, there are those which are more damaging to the experience and need to be quashed.
Even the Anniversary Edition of Skyrim has game-breaking glitches, and the situation has essentially reached the point where it's an ongoing joke in the community. Guards being able to swim in thin air is one example of an entertaining issue that fans have showcased, but entire crashes or quest NPCs spawning in areas the player can't get to are much more serious. Then there are those bugs which are downright creepy, and this particular one has been brought back by an enthusiastic modder.

As spotted by PCGamesN, a user who goes by the alias TheBlackCladWanderer has uploaded a mod for Skyrim that reinstates mannequins being able to move around, despite the developer removing it in a previous update. Entitled «Mannaquins Move,» there doesn't appear to be any rationale for bringing the glitch back other than the creator saying they were convinced by someone on Twitter to make the statues move again. They refer to the bug being removed as Bethesda's «mistake,» and in a brief FAQ on Nexus Mods, the answer to the question «why?» is simply «why not?» with no other explanation for the reason they want mannequins to move again.
