For years now, modders have been trying to make Skyrim more like Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Whether it's lock-on mods, dodging, health bars, or world bosses, you can find plenty of ways to make the experience more Souls-like.
So it shouldn't come as a surprise that one fan has already put together a mod that makes Skyrim more like Elden Ring. It adds the latter games' guard counter mechanic to Skyrim, letting you counter enemies or, as seen in the gif on the mod page, literal guards.

Elden Counter from dTry is a free mod for the Special Edition that makes it so when you block an attack and then power attack back, you'll guard counter. The downside is that it doesn't work in first-person. With how third-person is in Elder Scrolls games, you might be best grabbing a few other mods to make it a little less tedious. However, it doesn't use scripts so it isn't that intensive.
Guard countering is a new mechanic for Souls games. With a shield in hand, you just need to block an attack and then heavy attack right after. You'll hear a unique sound effect while a cloud icon pops up above the enemy's head. When it hits, you'll dole a significantly larger amount of damage.
In the Skyrim mod, you'll get a visual cue to tell you that you've initiated a guard counter. Your character will glow white. You can see it in the gif on the mod page which shows dTry giving it a whirl in Whiterun. It's a shame he didn't test it out on the Nazeem though, eh?
