A week after it launched on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC, Sifu has proved to be a well-received and popular roguelike title. With a unique mechanic that sees a player age exponentially every time they die, Sifu already had many gamers interested before launch, and when it did finally launch, it did so with an impressive number of initial players. Developer Sloclap celebrated 500,000 players loading up Sifu at launch.
Despite this initial success, and a reported lack of glitches and bugs at launch compared to some other modern titles, Sifu still has fixes that need to be implemented. While some of these are quality of life changes for Sifu's gameplay, including the addition of assist options or a difficulty setting to circumvent the difficult combat in the game, other problems have been occurring with the bosses in the game.
Sifu Adding Difficulty Modes, More Accessibility in Future Update
As with many other roguelikes such as Hades and Dead Cells, Sifu takes players through a level full of lower difficulty enemies before making them face the final boss of that area. As Sifu's story and gameplay relies heavily on the bosses faced in the game, bugs with those bosses have been treated as things to fix as quickly as possible by developer Sloclap. Taking to its Twitter account to inform fans that patch 1.06 was releasing for Sifu, the studio also unveiled what bugs will be fixed in the update.
At the top of the list of patch notes are fixes to Sean, the second boss Sifu players will face in the game, alongside fixes to the gameplay of the third boss, Kuroki.
