Shazam 2: Helen Mirren Did Some of Her Own Stunts, Broke Her Finger
star Helen Mirren recently appeared on to discuss the superhero sequel while revealing she did some of her own stunts.
“I did some of my own stunts, but I broke my finger,” Mirren stated, referring to her time working on the sequel. “I was incredibly brave and didn’t say anything or complain because I wanted to be a real ‘stunty’ person” (via Insider).
This isn’t the first time Mirren has done her own stunts, as the acclaimed actress told Forbes in 2021 that she did her own driving in — the ninth film in the franchise — after not being allowed to drive in .
will see the return of Asher Angel and Zachary Levi as they reprise their respective roles as Billy Batson and Shazam. Joining them are returning cast members Jack Dylan Grazer and Adam Brody as Freddy, Faithe Herman and Meagan Good as Darla, Ian Chen and Ross Bulter as Eugene, Grace Fulton as Mary, Jovan Arman and D.J. Cotrona as Pedro, Marta Milans, Cooper Andrews, and Djimon Hounsou.
After defeating Sivana and the Seven Deadly Sins two years ago, the sequel will feature the Shazam family going up against much more dangerous and godly threats, with the introductions of the daughters of Atlas — Hespera and Kalypso, who are set to be portrayed by Oscar winner Helen Mirren and actress Lucy Liu. star Rachel Zeigler has also been cast.
