Taking place 16 years after Resident Evil Village, Shadows of Rose is set to follow Ethan Winters' daughter Rosemary as she searches for a way to get rid of her mysterious powers. Upon interacting with a surviving piece of the Megamycete, Rose begins seeing all the humans the Mold has come into contact with. This includes a darker version of the Duke as well as a doppelganger of Rose herself.
The DLC is supposed to only be four hours long, and will allow players to control Rose from a third-person perspective. While Capcom is enticing players with new locales, characters, and revelations, it shouldn't forget to tie up Resident Evil Village's loose ends. The fallout of events from the main campaign should have repercussions on Rose and everybody around her after 16 years.
October 28 is Going to be a Big Day for Video Games
Players would like to know what became of Ethan. While it looks like his sacrifice to destroy Miranda and the Megamycete was final, those who stuck around for the epilogue know teenage Rosemary came into contact with a stranger that looks very much like Ethan. This tease, combined with Ethan's ability to resurrect himself using the Mold, is what puts his fate into question. Since people played him for two games, they deserve some sense of closure.
Mia Winters' fate deserves just as much attention seeing as she survived the events of Resident Evil Village and is Rose's legal guardian. Despite being Rose's mother, Mia is nowhere to be seen in Shadows of Rose's promotional material. She was taken from Mia by Chris Redfield after her powers started manifesting, but it's doubtful Mia would let her daughter go without a fight.
