A new horror docuseries titled Blumhouse's Compendium of Horror! will be hosted by horror legend Robert Englund and is set to debut this fall on EPIX courtesy of Blumhouse Productions.
Englund, most known for his legendary role as Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street and many of its sequels, is a horror icon, known for his knifed glove, humorous quips, and ample bloodshed. Englund himself has appeared in other lesser-known horror roles (Maniac,Eaten Alive) throughout the past several decades, in addition to his recent appearance as Victor Creel in Stranger Things season 4. Blumhouse Productions has made a name for itself as one of the premier studios producing horror, including films such as The Purge,Happy Death Day, and Insidious, as well as the critically acclaimed Get Out.

According to Fangoria, the docuseries will air in 5 parts, featuring interviews with some of the most influential horror filmmakers, producers, and actors alongside historians, scholars, and critics. The series is planned as “a definitive retrospective on the horror genre, revisiting the shocks and scares from iconic cinematic horror moments from the 1930s through today." Englund serves as narrator of the journey, exploring nearly a century of horror masterpieces and the reasons they have captured the public imagination, from simple entertainment to cultural catharsis.
