The new star of The Real Housewives of Orange County season 16, Dr. Jen Armstrong, has recently filed for legal separation from her husband Ryne Holliday. RHOC fans witnessed the tenuous relationship between Jen and Ryne in her debut season. The cosmetic doctor confessed that the long hours spent at her practice put a constant strain on her marriage. Ryne, who is a retired professional gambler and owns his own travel business, had taken on the role of stay-at-home-dad. Jen’s busy schedule often had Ryne feeling unappreciated, while Jen resented Ryne for not supporting her enough.
During an RHOC season 16 episode, Jen tearfully told fellow star Heather Dubrow that Ryne had left the house after a blow-out fight. Jen had tried talking to Ryne about their issues but he refused to do it on camera. According to Jen, after the cameras left, Ryne started screaming at her and stormed out. Heather tried to give Jen marriage advice and Jen seemed receptive to following through and working on her and Ryne’s relationship. After RHOC season 16 wrapped, Jen revealed that she and Ryne separated for a month but came back together to try and make things work once again.

Sadly, Jen and Ryne’s reconciliation was short-lived. As reported by Page Six, Jen filed for legal separation from Ryne on May 13. Page Six writes, “The cosmetic MD—who’s been married to Holliday for nearly eight years—listed their date of separation as Sep. 8, 2021, and noted ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the cause of their split.” Jen is “requesting legal and physical custody of their kids.” Jen and Ryne, who have been married for eight years, share kids Vera, Vince, and Robert Valor Holliday.
