Braunwyn Windham-Burke, a former star of The Real Housewives of Orange County, was invited to lead the 2022 OC Pride Parade and Festival. Braunwyn joined the RHOC seasons 14 and 15 cast and opened up about her life with her husband, Sean Burke, and their seven children. In RHOC season 15, Braunwyn revealed to fans that she was an alcoholic and was starting her sobriety journey. Things between her and Sean became rocky as she realized that he had enabled a lot of her behavior.
Midway through RHOC season 15, the housewives had to quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic and had to document a lot of their lives by themselves. Braunwyn shared with fans how things at home had been tense between her and Sean, and she confessed to hitting him. In December 2020, Braunwyn came out to the public and revealed that she is a lesbian. She acknowledged that despite loving Sean as a friend and partner, she had always been attracted to women.

As a champion and advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, Brauwnyn is going to be the grand marshal of the OC Pride and Parade Festival, set to take place on June 25, 2022, in downtown Santa Ana, California. In an interview with Instinct Magazine, Braunwyn stated that being the grand marshal for the festival “means everything.” She shared, “My coming out story was not easy. It was [met] with a lot of suspicion and disbelief. Being honored as the Grand marshal of OC Pride means that women who come out later in life are being heard.” Braunwyn went on to say that she felt honored to be a role model for people in the LGBTQ+ community to be true to themselves.
