The Real Housewives of Beverly Hillsstar Erika Jayne has been officially dismissed from the lawsuit against her estranged husband, Tom Girardi. The reality star was previously named in a fraud and embezzlement lawsuit filed in December 2020. Since then, the estranged couple has been dealing with the legal proceedings separately.
In 1998, Erika worked as a waitress at a restaurant where Tom, a founding partner of the law firm Girardi & Keese, was a regular. Despite their 32-year age difference, they became friends and eventually got married. Their lavish LA lifestyle was regularly featured on RHOBH, in which Erika admitted to spending $40,000 per month on hair and make-up alone. After 21 years of marriage, in November 2020, Erika filed for divorcefrom Tom. One month later, both were accused of embezzling $2 million in settlement funds intended for the families of the victims of the fatal Lion Air Flight 610, which Tom, as the victims’ attorney, was supposed to handle. Erika’s divorce and legal woes were among the primary storylines during RHOBHseason 11, in which some of her co-stars questioned her innocence. Tom, on the other hand, was forced to file for bankruptcy, lost his license to practice law, and reportedly got diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
