Resident Evil Village's virtual reality mode will arrive as free DLC on February 22, the same day as the PlayStation VR2 launches.
Anyone that owns the original version of Resident Evil Village on PlayStation 5 will therefore be able to download and play the update for free if they also own the PS VR2.
The VR mode was first announced in June and will support the entire campaign of Resident Evil Village. "A deeper and more captivating adventure awaits with PlayStation VR2, as Ethan Winters’ journey takes full advantage of the headset’s advanced features," reads Capcom's official synopsis.
"VR Mode utilizes the 4K HDR display, eye tracking, and 3D audio to make Resident Evil Village more realistic and intense than ever.
"Soak in the village’s richly detailed atmosphere in virtual reality, including the ornate chambers of Castle Dimitrescu, and prepare to feel truly dwarfed by the larger-than-life characters and creatures that lurk within."
In our preview of the game, IGN said: "Even as a game that’s well over a year old now, Resident Evil Village does what it needs to do to sell players on the capabilities of the PS VR2. It’s also an exciting moment for Resident Evil Village fans, who get to see their favourite series return to an area in which it excels."
