Redmi Note 12 series could be the first smartphone launch of 2023. Based on a new tip, it is said that Xiaomi will wait until the New Year to launch the successor to the Redmi Note 11 series. The Redmi Note 12 series was announced back in October 2022 in China and the series is now reaching India in January 2023. Based on the official teasers, there are three models expected in India, and the leak now confirms those models.
Based on the tip from Mukul Sharma, it is said that Xiaomi will announce three new models in the Redmi Note 12 series. There will be a standard Redmi Note 12 serving as the entry-level model, a beefed-up Redmi Note 12 Pro, and a fully specced out Redmi Note 12 Pro+. Sadly, the 200W wired charging solution may not make it to India, since that is only restricted to the Redmi Note 12 Discovery edition.
The Redmi Note 12 series will have a new Redmi Note 12 as the entry-level model. We have no idea as to how this phone will fare – this could be an entirely new model. The leak suggests that all three models will 5G compatible, and that means a 5G chipset inside.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ are expected to be the same models as the Chinese variants. That means the Pro variants could make use of the Dimensity 1080 chipset, a 120Hz OLED display, a 5000mAh battery and fast charging of up to 120W wired charging. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is now expected to feature the 200MP camera sensor for the main cameras.
What remains to be seen is the pricing. With midrange 5G chipsets and premium features, the Redmi Note 12 Pro models could go past the Rs. 20000 mark, taking on the Realme 10 Pro and Realme 10 Pro+.
