High on Life has officially become Xbox Game Pass' biggest launch of 2022, the biggest third-party Game Pass launch ever, and the biggest single-player game launch on Game Pass of all time.
The news was shared on Xbox Wire, and it was confirmed that these stats were "measured in terms of engagement, based on the number of hours played in the first five days of release."
High on Life was developed by Squanch Games, the studio founded by Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland. Roiland also appears in the game as the voice of Kenny the gun and more.
“This was our first time launching a game with Game Pass,” said Mike Fridley, Studio Director and COO of Squanch Games, “and we’ve been blown away by the response from the players who have made us the most popular game on Game Pass right now. When Squanch Games was first created, it was to make the games we wanted to play — and Game Pass is helping us reach the players that want to play those games too.”
In our High on LIfe review, we said, "not all of its jokes find their punchline, but with memorable boss fights, unique alt-fire abilities and exploration, and way more terrible movies to watch than I expected, this wacky journey is definitely worth your time."
