Krafton, developer of the popular Battle Royale game, PUBG: Battlegrounds, has recently posted 20 varying job roles to work on an unannounced AAA project. All listed job descriptions point towards a new combat-orientated game.
The highly successful player versus player shooter game is a worldwide sensation that helped ignite a genre that many players across the globe enjoy. Originally released on Steam, PUBG later came out on other devices, including mobile, due to its success and recently became free to play on PC and consoles. Going free to play helped propel PUBG to new audiences as Krafton announced that PUBG saw a growth of 500 percent, which is noticeably more significant than when it was first released back in 2017.

More recently, Krafton is hiring for several positions for an unannounced project — the most interesting roles include Lead Level Designer and Weapon Artist, which has led the community to speculate that there could be a PUBG 2 in the pipeline. Nineteen positions are based in Amsterdam, while the others are in Santa Monica. But this is just hearsay, and Krafton could be gearing up for an entirely new combat title to publish; what is for certain is that Krafton has specified in their listings that they're crafting an AAA project:
«As a Weapon Artist, you will craft a wide array of weapons and equipment for our upcoming AAA project. You will ensure that each item is excellent in its detail, realism, and quality, contributing massively to the overall look and feel of the game.»
Many roles also specify that candidates should be familiar with designing in Unreal Engine 5 and ask that applicants have experience or extensive knowledge of action/shooter-based
