The first big delivery of PS5 consoles in 2022 should take place next week at GAME, but they’re still going to be hard to come by.
It was always predicted that there wouldn’t be many PlayStation 5 consoles in stock at the start of 2022 and so far that’s exactly what’s happened, with only a few stores getting in a limited amount, most of which have been sold as bundles.
The first big restock of the year though is expected to start next week at GAME, with PS5 Stock UK predicting that the consoles will go on sale somewhere between Tuesday 8th and Thursday 10th.
That will include both disc and digital editions of the console and, in keeping with GAME’s usual schedules, they’re expected to go live between 9am and 11.30am in the morning.
There’s currently no estimate of how big the restock will be but all the others this year have been very small and it’s hoped this one will be different, with other retailers expected to get similar restocks in throughout February.
Previously, Sony put all its efforts into making sure there was as much stock as possible for before Christmas, with the downside to that being the lack of consoles in January.
Although the situation is expected to improve as the year goes on it has already been made clear that the shortages will continue into 2023.
Just this week, both Sony and Nintendo had to revise their sales forecasts down for their hardware, not because of a lack of demand but a lack of semiconductor chips.
