Sony and Activision have confirmed a PlayStation exclusive DLC pack for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.
PS4 and PS5 players who pre-order Modern Warfare 2 through the PlayStation Store will receive the Oni Operator Pack on day one.
Viewable in the trailer below, the exclusive DLC includes a high-level weapon blueprint for use in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.
“For some background on this courageous operator, Hiro ‘Oni’ Watanabe is a warrior and gun-for-hire who descended from a centuries-old samurai clan,” Activision writer Daniel Noel told PlayStation Blog.
“Torn between country and family, he honors the code of the samurai while fighting to clear his disgraced family name.”
Sony and Activision have a long-standing Call of Duty marketing deal which in recent years has seen PlayStation owners receive a range of exclusive content including in-game bundles, exclusive game modes and early access to public tests.
The Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta launches today, with PlayStation players receiving first access ahead of Xbox and PC users, who will be able to participate beginning on September 22.
Activision released a Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer and Warzone 2 trailer on Thursday, showing off some of the new mechanics coming to the upcoming games.
And it confirmed a Warzone 2 release date of November 16, which will also mark the start of Modern Warfare 2’s first season of live content.
The Modern Warfare 2 release date is October 28, but players who pre-order the digital version of the game will be granted early access to its campaign on October 20.
