Marvel’s plans for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty make it likely that the Multiverse Saga’s missing new hero – Wonder Man – will be a part of the team. Though Marvel hasn’t confirmed his live-action debut, it’s no secret that Simon Williams a.k.a. Wonder Man is among the many classic Avengers on their way to the MCU within the next few years. However, the character was noticeably absent from Marvel’s announcements at San Diego Comic-Con 2022.
In Marvel Comics, Wonder Man is a superhero powered by ionic energy and a longtime member of the Avengers. He’s known for a number of things, including his friendship with the Beast, his immortality, his love triangle with Scarlet Witch and Vision, and his life as a Hollywood actor. The latter is widely expected to be a focal point of his upcoming MCU project, which is reportedly in development at Marvel Studios for Disney+. Many believed that Marvel would officially confirm his Disney+ show (and perhaps even announce an actor for the role of Simon Williams) at SDCC, but there was no mention of the series or the character. But since there are several open dates on Marvel’s Phase 6 slate, Wonder Man still has good chances of premiering in 2024 or 2025.

In addition to getting his own show, Wonder Man has emerged as a candidate for Marvel’s next Avengers team. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton has been tapped to helm Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. What’s interesting about that in regards to Simon Williams is the fact that Cretton is developing the hero’s new show. Cretton making both Wonder Man and Avengers 5 in Phase 6 would be indicative of a connection between the two
