After the first three days of Diablo II: Resurrected's Ladder Season 1, over 500,000 players have been ranked on the official leaderboards. Just two weeks ago, an official press release has unveiled that Diablo II: Resurrected has sold over 5 million units since launch last year. The following rounded numbers have been gathered by analyzing the in-game ladder option across all four game modes:

However, server and database hiccups caused problems for a majority of the playerbase even after the first days of a rocky launch. Blizzard shared with the community that legacy code caused the game's databases to behave abnormally under heavy load. Following over two months of development, the Diablo team deployed a fix for the database issue. What followed was the release of Patch 2.4, Diablo II: Resurrected's first big content update, introducing several huge changes to classes, mercenaries, and more, and the release of Resurrected's first ladder season on April 28.
