Square Enix’s single-player mobile RPG Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent is finally available to download. However, players are still not able to play the mobile game quite yet.
After months of pre-registration, Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent is now available to download. On mobile storefronts, the new RPG is downloadable, but unfortunately not playable.
While the game is single player, it appears that COTC is tied to online servers. This means that the game cannot be played until you’re connected to the server. But when can you connect?
Currently, you’ll still have to wait quite a while to actually get into the game. For now, opening the game will greet you with a message explaining when the game will actually launch. It says:
“We are currently performing maintenance. The game will not be playable during this time. Maintenance is scheduled to end at 2022/07/27 2:00 (UTC). The duration of maintenance is subject to change.”
So, Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent is very almost out. Unfortunately, we still have a few hours to go.
While Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent isn’t out yet, it seems absolutely worth a try. After all, it is completely free to start on all mobile platforms.
As a prequel to the original Octopath Traveller, this brings the series’ beautiful 2D-HD art style to mobile. From what we’ve seen, it looks absolutely gorgeous.
Download the game here on Android.
