Nothing Phone 2 is not happening anytime soon. In a recent tweet made by founder Carl Pei, it is absolutely clear that there is no Nothing Phone 2 in the works as of now. The company is instead focusing on Phone 1 for now and Nothing has plans regarding its software, the Android 13 update, and some more. The Nothing Phone 1 was announced back in July as a midrange Android smartphone has seen multiple price cuts over the months in India.
In his tweet, Carl Pei mentions that the focus is on the Phone 1 for now, with the company working on software updates, especially the Android 13 update. “Phone (2) isn't launching anytime soon. We're focused on doing a few things well, and won't churn out dozens of products a year like many others,” wrote Carl in his latest tweet.
On the other hand, Nothing is working on releasing the Android 13 update for the Phone 1, with the first public beta versions expected to release soon. A stable update is expected to release in early January 2023. No major UI changes are expected with the Nothing OS skin for now, but we could see new Android 13 features.
The Nothing Phone 1 is currently one of the strong contenders in the midrange smartphone segment. The Phone 1 starts at a price of Rs. 27,499 for the base 128GB variant in India, and offers a solid combination of specifications and user experience.
