Video game company Nintendois forbidding Nintendo Switch Sports playtesters from sharing information about the game during its open playtest phase, which is set to take place later this February. Nintendo Switch Sports was announced during the recent Nintendo Direct, revealing the classic sports game experience for Switch, first seen on the Nintendo Wii.
Nintendo Switch Sports will be the latest of Nintendo's offerings in the party game space. The upcoming title will reportedly focus heavily on movement and gyro controls similar to Wii Sports, which launched alongside the Wii console in 2006. This new release will include some of the same activities, such as bowling and tennis, while introducing new sports like volleyball and soccer. In place of the Nintendo Wiimote, players will make use of the gyro controls in the Joy-Con controllers. The compact nature of these modern gamepads also seems to be playing a role in how Nintendo is approaching the design of this game, as it will use a leg strap for the Joy-Cons so that players can better simulate the act of playing soccer. Nintendo Switch Sports will include several games, with more to be added in the future.
