Nintendo is celebrating Kirby's 30th anniversary this year, and with Kirby and the Forgotten Land on its way, the company has decided to add in some free holiday gifts for fans as well. As February 14 approaches, Nintendo has taken to social media to share some adorable Kirby-themed Valentine's Day cards.
Although Kirby is not a character traditionally associated with romance, it can't be denied that love and affection are important themes found throughout the Kirby franchise. Many of the characters Kirby meets start out as enemies or rivals before being befriended by the adorable pink puffball. This may not sound particularly impressive until one realizes that the list includes corrupt tyrants, evil sorcerers, fragments of eldritch abominations, and potentially even Void Termina, the Kirby's universe's Destroyer of Worlds. As such, the character is a great fit for the February 14 festivities.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land's New Character Elfilin Stirs Speculation Among Fans
In a recent tweet from the verified Nintendo UK Twitter account, Kirby fans were treated to four free Kirby-themed Valentine's Day cards featuring power-ups and forms from the upcoming Kirby and the Forgotten Land. The cards feature Kirby with a drill hat, Kirby with a star-shooting gun, and Kirby with a mouthful of light bulb as well as the iconic Carby form. Carby is the official name for the form Kirby takes on when swallowing the top part of a car. None of the other forms displayed here appear to have an official name as of writing, let alone one as fun as Carby.
