CD Projekt Red has released an update designed to fix some of the technical issues PC players have recently been experiencing with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
The stability and performance issues in question arose following last week’s release of the game’s next-gen update.
“We’ve just released a hotfix for The Witcher 3 on PC, which should improve the overall stability and performance, and fix GOG & Steam overlays,” CD Projekt said on Monday. “The game version won’t change.”
The update weighs in at 3GB on Steam and 1.9GB on GOG.
“Our teams are working on further improving the experience on all platforms,” CD Projekt added.
“At the same time, the next-gen update has been released for the Origin version of the game,” it said.
Last Friday, CD Projekt released another update to address an issue that was preventing PS5 players in some regions from accessing Witcher 3’s expansions.
Following several delays and a change of developer, Witcher 3’s next-gen update was released on December 14 as a standalone purchase for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5, and as a free patch for players who already own the game on PC and last-gen consoles.
VGC’s The Witcher 3 review for PS5 called the game the “definitive version of one of the best RPGs ever”.
