Back in 2014, the first season of Tales from the Borderlands hit PCs and consoles worldwide. The game was originally developed by Telltale Games which, at the time, was best known for its hit video game, The Walking Dead. Unfortunately, Tales from the Borderlands didn't sell as well as the company had anticipated, making a second season unlikely. Telltale Games went bankrupt in 2018 leaving behind a complicated legacy. The rights to Tales from the Borderlands eventually found their way into the hands of 2K; the publisher of the main Borderlands games. The publisher has since put Gearbox to work on a new game and information on it has steadily been leaking. For example, a new rating for New Tales from the Borderlands was listed with the ESRB earlier this summer, although, at the time, it wasn't clear if it was for the new game or a re-release of the original game. Now, however, the release date for New Tales from the Borderlands game has found its way online as well.
