A new PlayStation-exclusive horror game could be in development, going off of a recently discovered job listing from a first-party Sony studio. Firesprite isn't a name that many PlayStation fans are likely familiar with, but that's likely to change quickly in the coming years. Firesprite is known for working on The Playroom, as well as Run Sackboy! Run! and was acquired by Sony in 2021. It's heavily rumored to be working on a Twisted Metal reboot, but that may not be the only project Firesprite is working on.
A job listing for Firesprite discovered by ResetEra user Toriko is hinting that the Sony studio has a surprising new game in development. The job listing is for a Narrative Director for a project described as a «AAA narrative driven horror-adventure game.» Suffice to say, that's probably not a job listing for Twisted Metal, barring Firesprite taking the car combat game in an entirely new direction.

The only other information about the project revealed as part of the job listing is that the horror game is being built on Unreal Engine 5. While that doesn't necessarily confirm anything specific, it implies that Firesprite has ambitious plans for the game. A AAA horror project built on Unreal Engine 5 has the potential for impressive visuals and atmosphere, though Firesprite still has much to prove in terms of AAA game development.
While Firesprite isn't necessarily known for horror projects, it does have a horror game in its library of releases.
