Nearly three years after the release of Need for Speed: Heat, the most current entry in Electronic Arts' vaunted arcade racing series, the next Need for Speed title will finally be confirmed via a trailer scheduled to release in just two days. Though little regarding the title has been confirmed, a few details have slipped through the cracks. That said, fans won't have to wait much longer for further details.
The game’s reveal trailer is already scheduled for a premiere on YouTube, and hundreds of Need for Speed fans have flocked to the pre-premiere chat to discuss their hopes for the title and to share their thoughts on the recent direction of the series as a whole. Need for Speed: Heat was made available for free to PS Plus subscribers in September, generating quite a bit of buzz for the recently-dormant series, though opinions on the entry appear to have been somewhat mixed, with many calling for a return to the adrenaline-fueled street racing fondly remembered by many a fan of Need for Speed: Underground or Need for Speed: Most Wanted.

The reveal trailer is currently set to debut on October 6, 2022, at 11 AM, EST, and, while definite details concerning the upcoming project are relatively sparse, a recent leak that accurately predicted that a trailer would be forthcoming also speculated that the newest installment would be titled Need for Speed: Unbound. It’s also been suggested that the trailer will somehow include anime elements—something that’s never been seen in the series—and that it will unveil a released date of December 2, 2022.
