Bungie announced that the armor ornaments coming alongside Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost have a new cosmetic bug associated with them. This comes on the first day of the event, along with another issue that appears to have a minor issue on a separate cosmetic. However, it does appear that these bugs won't stop players from earning the cosmetics themselves during the current weekly reset.
According to the announcement from the @BungieHelp support account for Destiny 2, this new bug is related to how certain shaders interact with the new Festival of the Lost armor. While many fans have already flooded to the original post to comment on the situation, Bungie assures that the developer is working on a fix behind the scenes.

In the initial announcement, released only minutes after the Festival of the Lost event went live, Bungie claims to have already been aware of this bug before the launch. According to the developer, the bug itself causes Destiny 2's Mech Armor to display an incorrect texture when specific shaders are applied to them. Bungie has not gone into further detail, however, as to what parts of the armor show this texture, or which shaders cause the specific bug to occur. So, that will be up for players to find out as they unlock the gear during the event.
Along with the bug with this armor, it would also appear that the Bold Chapalu sparrow that is available with the upgraded event card also has a cosmetic-related issue. However, according to Bungie, this bug only takes effect when viewing the sparrow through the Festival of the Lost event card dialogue, as well as the instant reward icon.
