NASA climate scientist Peter Kalmus chained himself to a JP Morgan Chase bank last week to protest against global warming. Kalmus posted a video of the protest yesterday on Twitter. In the video, he breaks down while talking about the challenge of fighting climate change and the frustrations of not being listened to. With his left hand chained to the bank’s door, Kalmus proceeds to give a passionate speech for everyone. “I’m here because scientists are not being listened to. In his speech, Kalmus urged people to not be bystanders as the world becomes more inhospitable every day. He said, “It’s time for all of us to stand up, and take risks, and make sacrifices for this beautiful planet that gives us life, that gives us everything”.
Wildlife biologist Allan Chornack was also at the protest and gave a similarly powerful speech. He said, “We are tired of being ignored. We tried being unbiased, we tried being silent, we tried the policy game..we have tried
