There's a new pen in town. Motorola today announced the availability of its smart stylus with folio case for the Edge+ phone, which will be sold at Verizon and Motorola for $79.99(Opens in a new window).
The Edge+ is available at Verizon(Opens in a new window), but it's more notably also the first 5G phone for Dish's new network. Dish is currently only selling the phone and service in Las Vegas, but the carrier pledges to open up its network to more of the country in June.
The stylus works much like other active styli. There's a Moto Note app for note-taking and sketching. You can hand write words and convert them to text, and you can use the stylus as a remote control for the camera or the phone's PC-like Ready For mode.
In our review of the Edge+, we liked the phone's big screen and fast performance, but we didn't find its camera up to the standards of flagship competitors such as the Galaxy S22 and the Apple iPhone 13.
As the stylus doesn't fit into the Edge+ phone itself, there's a slot to keep it in Motorola's folio case. Motorola's new Moto G Stylus 5G, and the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, both keep their styli in the phone body.
