Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is going to have three unique character classes in its upcoming Special Ops mode. Unlike its 2019 predecessor, the new COD is going to offer a more in-depth Spec Ops experience, with several available missions and even an unprecedented Raid game mode coming later on, which is supposed to provide an endgame PvE activity that builds on top of the game's core campaign mode.
Spec Ops, specifically, will take place in Al Mazrah, which is the new Warzone 2.0 map that's coming with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Here, players will get to participate in three replayable missions that appear to be balancing the Spec Ops from 2009's Modern Warfare 2 with the iteration of the mode that dropped in 2019's Modern Warfare. Many specifics are still unknown, but Infinity Ward has apparently come up with a few novel additions in this regard.

The latest blog post from Infinity Ward goes into a bit more detail about this Call of Duty's Spec Ops mode, revealing that Modern Warfare 2 will have three Spec Ops missions at launch. To best tackle their objectives, players will be able to choose between the all-new Assault, Medic, and Recon character classes or Kits. These will be depicted through specialized Backpack items, each of which comes with its own PvE perks, gadgets, and more.
The Recon Kit will therefore have access to the Heartbeat Sensor and the Spotter Scope gadgets, for example.
