Modern Warfare 2’s ping system has seemingly been disabled, after players discovered it could be used to track enemy players through walls for entire matches.
As reported by Eurogamer, within hours of players sharing footage of the glitch on social media, the ping system now appears to have been disabled in-game.
“Huge Bug: You can Ping an enemy during the death screen and the Ping lasts for the whole game, essentially giving you wallhacks on that one player for the remainder of the game,” wrote one Reddit user on Friday, who shared footage of the glitch.

“This is a huge bug,” commented another user. “I swear I noticed people tracking me through walls but I didn’t want it be ‘that guy’ so I chalked it up to coincidence. This needs to get fixed ASAP otherwise it’ll become rampant.”
At the time of publishing, developer Infinity Ward has not commented publicly on the issue or when the ping system might be reinstated.
