When is the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 campaign released? Usually it would be the same day as the game itself, but that isn’t the case this time.
Instead, the Modern Warfare 2 campaign is being made available early to anyone who pre-ordered the game digitally.
This means you can play through the campaign early and get used to the feel of the game.
Then, when the multiplayer mode arrives on the game’s official release date of October 28, you can get stuck straight into it, safe in the knowledge that the Campaign has already been cleared.
If you’ve pre-ordered a physical copy of Modern Warfare 2 then the campaign will be available to you on October 28, the same day the game is officially released.
However, if you pre-ordered the game digitally on the Xbox and PlayStation digital stores, or on Battle.net or Steam on PC, you’ll get access to the campaign more than a week early.
Specifically, the campaign will be available from October 20 at 10am PST / 1pm EST / 6pm BST.
According to Activision Blizzard, the campaign will feature missions in Europe, Asia and the Americas, and will include “offshore sieges with underwater combat, all-out explosive assaults from 30,000 feet above enemy strongholds, and high-stakes, low-profile stealth missions in both plain sight and under the cover of darkness”.
As well as the early access to the Campaign, pre-ordering Modern Warfare 2 also let players take part in the Early Access Beta, which has now ended.
If you pre-order the more expensive Vault Edition of Modern Warfare II, you’ll also get four special playable Multiplayer Operators (Ghost, Farah, Price and Soap) wearing special masked outftis, as well as an FJX Cinder Weapon Vault and a Season 1 Battle Pass with 50 Tier Skips.
