Cats have existed in Minecraft for quite a long time. The adorable feline companions behave almost the same way as their real-life prototypes, although animator Ocana_Dana might’ve uncovered the horrible truth behind Minecraft cats’ feigned cuteness. In a short video, a Minecraft cat begins looking around. It is exactly at that moment the animator reveals that the lone pixel, which was previously believed to be just a gap between a cat’s eyes, is, in fact, a pupil of a single, much larger eye. In other words, Minecraft cats are cyclopes, at least according to this unsettling video.

In an endearing vlog-style video, a recent Minecraft animation (courtesy of Redditor PlayArt20) brilliantly highlights several challenges of surviving the first night. In the video, Steve steps into the voxel world determined to leave an impact. The character punches the first few blocks of wood required to make a crafting table and begins assembling mining tools. Throughout the adorably animated Minecraft video, obstacles of varying danger levels arise. Steve loses the vlog camera, makes a rookie mistake of mining diamonds with a stone pickaxe, and barely escapes a village after a sudden zombie attack.
